Welcome to Sixth Grade Language Arts!

Sixth Grade Language Arts class studies and refines skills in Reading, Writing, English, Speaking, Spelling, and Vocabulary Development with an emphasis on Reading. Students will develop these skills through a variety of techniques which include cooperative learning stations, cross-curricular instruction, technology based instruction, as well as traditional approaches to engage students in the learning process. The sixth grade reading requirements involve utilizing the Accelerated Reader Program equating to ten percent of the student's grade. Each student will be required to obtain a set number of A.R. points per nine week period as well as to complete a brief book report. This course is directly aligned with PSSA anchors and standards in Language Arts.
